ABOUT ORCA
Orca are a small charity offering financial support to young people in Guernsey within all areas of the arts.
Jazz Vocalist
Lydia Jane Pugh is an award-winning Singer, Composer and Vocal Coach who writes, performs and creates stunning music, whether it is via her own singer-songwriting, writing for others or coaching a new musical talent.
Her songwriting talent is clear, having been shortlisted for the Songdoor International Songwriting Competition, 2012, and making the semi-finals 'Song of the Year, 2014' with '1945' (soft-rock category).
With original songs and insightful interpretations of modern day songs in the jazz idiom, Lydia’s music transcends genres and gets straight to the heart of her listeners.
Singer / Guitarist
Dave has been singing from the age of eight and playing guitar from sixteen - first teaching himself basic power chords through listening to bands like Green Day and Nirvana, then through more complex progressions from the likes of Radiohead and the Beatles. Having not had much opportunity to perform before coming to Guernsey, Dave is now thankful to be able to do so here on a regular basis.
Country Trio
The Dawberts consist of father and daughter Graham and Rachel Dawson and Godfather Ian (Cuth) Cuthbertson. They’re an acoustic trio with a country/pop vibe who project their love of all genres of music into their eclectic set, singing covers from greats such as The Bellamy Brothers, Lady Gaga and Sia. Graham and Cuth have been involved in the music scene since teenagers and first met when they played together in local band ‘Top Banana’. With these two as role models Rachel was bound to follow in their musical footsteps and has been singing and playing guitar since she was tiny.
